IMPULSE’AO (English) - 20/11/2015

Led by Adionics, the IMPULSE’AO project (DESALAO during phase 1) is rolling out AquaOmnes®, a disruptive water deionisation/desalination technology to allow Water for All. It will halve the cost of seawater desalination and provide a cost-effective and selective solution for treating water with high salinity (brine). The IMPULSE’AO project will enable the technology to be tried and tested on seawater in real conditions prior to largescale business development.

HICAP (English) - 18/11/2015

Magpie Polymers produces proprietary filtration resins with extreme selectivity for recovering precious metals such as platinum, palladium and gold from process water. Hicap, a winner of the Worldwide Innovation Challenge, represents a major step forward in new resins that are able to recover 10 to 20 times more than the current range. This innovation will considerably expand Magpie's potential markets and allow it much greater control over its manufacturing processes, which will be entirely within France.

DESA (English) - 18/11/2015

The Desa project is based on a biotechnological process that initiates and amplifies the crystallisation of sodium chloride at concentrations present in seawater.

HALOS (English) - 18/11/2015

BGH is a recent startup that specialises in treating and exploiting highly-saline solutions. The company has developed a new technology based on the crystallisation of natural compounds known as gas hydrates, opening the door to the production of desalinated water and concentrating salt into a solid state. After a year of lab-based experimentation, the company is currently working on a pilot desalination facility together with the Ecole des Mines de St Etienne, which will be set up in its premises at Lacq. BGH has received support from, among others, the Total Développement Régional.

FIBRE ( English) - 18/11/2015

The goal of the Fibre project is to design a light, small, economical, easy-to-use and remotely operated underwater machine with a broadband connection to the surface.

This machine, capable of operating at more than 2,000 m below the surface, would greatly expand the possibility of underwater exploration (of underwater resources but also biological ecosystems).

This simple-looking machine is packed with innovations, including its ballast system, its immersed-rotor propulsion engines and its high-speed broadband fibre-optic connection.
