La Poste’s New Public Service Contract 2018-2022 - 01/08/2017

The Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE) of the Ministry for Economy and Finance is launching a public consultation for the future public service contract (2018-2022) between the French government and the La Poste group. This contract is due to be signed by the end of 2017.

In November 2015, as part of the New Industrial France programme, the Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE) at the Ministry for the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs initiated a study by the PIPAME (Interministerial Economic Change Forward-Planning and Forecasting Unit) into current uses of Big Data and the changing face of all business sectors owing to the options available in the Data Economy. Big Data is central to the New Industrial France programme’s “Data Economy” project.

On 1 June 2016, the Dual-Use Goods Department (SBDU) held its 4th Forum for Dual-Use Goods Exporters at the French Economy and Finance Ministries (Bercy). The fourth edition, which drew almost 200 participants – including over 150 companies – focused on current and practical issues.

Employer groups , a device adapted to SME needs - 03/05/2016

On 21 April 2016, the ministries with responsibility for employment and the economy organised a seminar at the Ministry for the Economy to promote and demonstrate the merits of employer groups. The meeting was part of a plan to bolster employment in SMEs and VSEs inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 9 June 2015; the twelfth measure in the plan relates to the development of such groups.

The seminar was intended to publicise and gain recognition for the role of employer groups in boosting employment and the economy throughout France.

National operation to monitor weighing instruments in the agri-food sector by the weights and measures offices of the DIRECCTE - 07/01/2016

In September and October of 2015, staff of the Regional Directorates for Enterprises, Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs, Labour and Employment (DIRECCTE) were tasked by the Minister for the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs with a national operation to inspect weighing instruments in the agri-food sector. The goal was to ensure the fairness of commercial transactions with consumers as well as between professionals. A similar operation took place in 2011.

Yiqing Yin has been awarded the “Haute Couture” designation by the Fashion Design Committee - 24/12/2015

The Fashion Design Regulatory and Accreditation Committee, which met on 16 December 2015 at the Fédération Française de la Couture, du Prêt-à-Porter, des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode, awarded the “Haute Couture” designation to a new fashion house: Yiqing Yin.

She joins the thirteen fashion houses already holding the designation: Adeline André, Alexis Mabille, Bouchra Jarrar, Chanel, Christian Dior, Franck Sorbier, Giambattista Valli, Givenchy, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela, Maurizio Galante, Stéphane Rolland and Alexandre Vauthier.

A new Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics Processing and Composites - 21/11/2015

The new Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics Processing and Composites (CTI-PC) is a response to a clear need expressed by the plastics processing and composites industry. Proposed in the report submitted by Clotilde Valter to Emmanuel Macron on 7 October 2014, the Centre will provide high-level research and innovation expertise to manufacturers. It will play an important role in keeping this industry – and the entire French economy – competitive.

Detecting the use of new chemical compounds as drug precursors – a joint effort by the National Drug Precursor Monitoring Task Force and the Joint Laboratory Department - 22/10/2015

On 22 October, the National Drug Precursor Monitoring Task Force (MNCPC) and the Joint Laboratory Department of the economy and finance ministries (SCL) signed a cooperation agreement. The goal is to provide the MNCPC with technical support, allowing it to more easily monitor new chemical compounds that are being used as drug precursors.

The MNCPC, which reports to the Directorate General for Enterprise, has been tasked with monitoring the manufacture and trading of chemical compounds that could be used to create illegal drug substances.
